"Some bands would make a good plot-line for the X Files" The Garage

I HAVE A CULTURE!

Well now Scholtz Vitrine finally has a real url, a load of downloadable material, research articles, interviews, and lovely pics.

What's new?

I'm currently based in Brighton. I've been producing tracks for Shvtrn South people like Rafeatus. Updating the schvtrn site as often as possible.

On the Memeplex front, I've been working on a CD titled 'The Mekano Set'. This is going to go out to any interested parties as a 12 track CD in a Xeroxed-fanzine style lo-fi sleeve. You can get a copy for free but if you want to know the track listing and the credits you'l have to find them on-line [the url will be printed on a business card in the CD sleeve].

We're also toying with the idea of having a second 'bonus' CD of more experimental soundescape pieces [sic].

"Intruiging, with gothic bass and low-rent drum machine thuds" Record Collector

Sometimes I despair - music effects me in such an immediate way - it's an instant hit. So being bombarded with so much lame, meaningless shit drains me. But then I'll accidentally listen to a song from MY collection [which is pretty small] and suddenly I'm lifted and I'm full of something like JoY! Me - an eternal cynic and former goth-punk who raged at the state of the world, the prospect of adult life [which smacked of slavery to my anarcho-militant-lefty eyes].

We've never sounded better. Ade and Lee continually come out with stuff that suprises - and I know where my ground is now. I couldn't really make the sounds I wanted to before - which always leads to new ground as you struggle to find what's right for you - but now I'm really putting in 100% - I'm not just coasting along I'm participating. I realise now that it's not enough to just bring along some sequences, I WANT to sing and I want to do it live!

To all the few people that I failed to explain myself who came to see us play in the past.

Leftfield, Pil, Underworld, Joy Division, Krust, Laika, Scorn, Nina Simone, Swans, Tom Waits, The Chameleons, Gang Starr, Magazine, Godflesh: music that reminds me that I have feelings.
