Currently exploring the oddly child-like world of OS X. It's certainly gone a whole lot further in terms of 'liquifying' pixels. And although it may simply be down to my lack of experience with the interface, it seems oddly clunky... reminding me of a child's colourful wooden blocks. I'm not convinced I'll be making the switch full-time, but perhaps it might make a nice holiday. Word does seem a whole lot more appealing under X though.

Well anyway, I've just found out that my Powerbook is almost certainly beyond repair so I'm in a bit of a daze. No work was lost though, fortunately, and I'm now forced to fork out wedge on the iMac I've already filled-to-bursting with .wavs and txt's.

Have also just mailed the master of the 'Rekotron' sessions to TAR, so hopefully there will be some MP3's up very soon.

So Ade (SDC / CompseyTAR) came over last night, and as he didn't bring his kit with him I assumed it was just a flying visit. But we set up the fretless and ended up recording about 7 tracks on-the-fly. 7 tracks with beats. Each one just happened spontaneously over some beats I'd been working on 'in case of emergencies'. First time we've played like this in almost four years (horrible thought!)

I'm going to be mixing the tracks this week, and coupled with the droney things we did a few months back, and some MeMePleX tracks, and some new beats I've been working on meantime, we're potentially going to have all this new material available for release and download very soon. TAR now have their own server, so they'll essentially be able to offer an entire hard-drive's worth of mp3's for download.

Updates are being made on a near-daily basis to Scholtz Vitrine's rumour control by Steve and me.

See you soon.
